ABOUT ME
MY STORY
I was exposed to natural health and wellness from the moment I was born into a nutritionist’s arms. My dad was also a qualified nutritionist and owned two very successful multi-dimensional health clubs in London that were ahead of their time.
My mother practiced yoga in the living room when I was little. She bought me kids yoga videos and introduced me to Kundalini at the age of sixteen. I consulted school friends on healthy lunchboxes, made pretend diet and exercise plans for them and qualified as a Personal Trainer at the age of seventeen.
After spending a few years travelling and realising that studying fashion styling was definitely NOT for me, I enrolled in an Advanced Diploma of Yoga (350hrs) with the Australian Yoga Academy in Prahran. For 12 months I studied under the extremely talented Dominique and Anthony Salerno, Mel Mackintosh and many other wise teachers. Meanwhile I grabbed a cooking job at a local coffee roasters which ended up with me running their kitchen (at the age of 20!) and transforming their menu into plant-based seasonal meals. I also taught regular public yoga classes, ranging from vinyasa to guided Yoga Nidra sessions.
At the age of 22, I created my first business, SweetGreens, with my mother. We hosted sold-out healthy cooking workshops, catered for venues and private functions and developed hundreds of recipes. She continues to run this business, baking the most delicious and sought-after vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar-free cakes for local cafes.
Meanwhile, I met my husband and birthed my two beautiful boys. But my ambitious heart wasn’t ready to sit still… I enrolled myself in a Diploma of Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consulting and travelled to Melbourne weekly when my first son was only 7 months old to immerse myself in this ancient healing science, escaping to the bathroom to pump breastmilk every three hours! My perspective on health and nutrition changed radically after this life-changing course. I was grateful to implement my new found knowledge for my family’s health and wellbeing.
In the years that followed, I specialised in postpartum care with Soma Shakti, an Ayurvedic postpartum doula school in Sydney. I had just birthed my second son. It seemed to be a pattern! I transitioned into their in-person training retreat held in the beautiful hinterland of Byron Bay and fell in love with their nurturing approach to supporting postpartum mothers. It came at a perfect time because by this point I had felt the deep exhaustion and depletion of those early motherhood years; sleep deprivation, constant breastfeeding, little time for self-care… I was searching for something that would help me to feel radiant self again! I implemented the Ayurvedic postpartum wisdom and within months I felt its magic working.
Here I am now, guiding women through the life changing knowledge of Ayurveda to heal their digestive systems, hormones and nervous systems with diet, self-care practices and herbal protocols. I absolutely love my job and I can’t imagine anything more fulfilling than passing on this sacred healing wisdom. I personally feel the best I ever have, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, even running around after my energetic boys and keeping up with the wonderful demands of family life.
If you feel ready to take control of yours and your family’s wellbeing in a holistic way and take yourself on a path to thriving in motherhood, I would love to work with you.
Sat Nam,
Jessica Rose xo
